A significant day in HIS story

Today is November 29, 2018, a very significant day.  What is so significant about this day?  Today, Nov. 29, 2018, marks the completion of the 70th year since the Partition Plan.  On Nov. 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for Palestine to be partitioned between Arabs and Jews, allowing for the formation of the Jewish state of Israel. However, the Plan definitely shrunk the Jewish homeland to significantly smaller than it had historically been, but the Jewish people, who had been exiled from their land for 2000 years, were willing to accept the plan. The Arab nations were not because they actually wanted 100% of the land and were not pleased about Israel returning to her homeland.

On November 29, 1947, The General Assembly voted, 33-13, in favor of partition, with 10 members, including Britain, abstaining. The six Arab nations in the General Assembly staged a walkout in protest. The New York Times reported: “The walkout of the Arab delegates was taken as a clear indication that the Palestinian Arabs would have nothing to do with the Assembly’s decision.

Six months later, on May 14, 1948, Jewish leaders in the region formed the state of Israel. British troops left, thousands of Palestinian Arabs fled and Arab armies invaded Israel. In the Arab-Israeli War, Israel defeated its enemies. It was the first of several wars fought between Israel and its neighbors.

Zechariah 12 prophesied that in the latter days, Jerusalem would become a “cup of trembling”, which is exactly what has happened.  Zechariah 12 also shows that YHWH has made Jerusalem a “Heavy Stone” and all who seek to “heave it away” will become severely injured.

Zechariah 12: An oracle of the word of the LORD concerning Israel. Thus declares the LORD, who stretches out the heavens and lays the foundation of the earth, who forms the spirit of man within him:

Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah.

On that day, when all the nations of the earth gather against her, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who would heave it away will be severely injured.

We’ve already seen how this land was given by YHWH to the Jewish people, the “Shemites” (Semites), through a Covenant with Noah and Shem in the book of Jubilees 8.  The land was then stolen by the Canaanites, the cursed grandson of Noah, a very evil hybrid people.  But then God promised it back to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel) through the Abrahamic Covenant.  Jerusalem IS the eternal Capital of the Jews.

But what’s significant about this particular day?  November 29th marks the fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy!  In 1947, the Jewish people were not living in the land of Israel. In-fact, History tells us that the Jewish people had been scattered across the face of the earth since 70AD, the time that the Roman Army destroyed Jerusalem.  The destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple had been prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24 and Luke 21 some 40 years before it happened.  Forty is the number of trial and testing. The Jewish people did not recognize their own Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus); therefore, their house was left DESOLATE, just as Jesus had prophesied.

Matthew 24:  Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

Luke 21: 20 But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near. 21 Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are inside the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city; 22 because these are days of punishment, so that all things which have been written will be fulfilled.

In the year 66 AD the Jews of Judea rebelled against their Roman masters. In response, the Emperor Nero dispatched an army under the generalship of Vespasian to restore order. By the year 68, resistance in the northern part of the province had been eradicated and the Romans turned their full attention to the subjugation of Jerusalem. That same year, the Emperor Nero died by his own hand, creating a power vacuum in Rome. In the resultant chaos, Vespasian was declared Emperor and returned to the Imperial City. It fell to his son, Titus, to lead the remaining army in the assault on Jerusalem.

The Roman legions surrounded the city and began to slowly squeeze the life out of the Jewish stronghold. By the year 70 AD, the attackers had breached Jerusalem’s outer walls and began a systematic ransacking of the city. The assault culminated in the burning and destruction of the Temple that served as the center of Judaism.🔥

Those Jews who had believed the words of Jesus some 40 years earlier, saw the armies surrounding Jerusalem and fled for their lives.  Jesus’ Words literally meant life or death.

What happened in Jerusalem in 70AD was horrific, but it wasn’t the first time that the Jerusalem was attacked and the Jews sent into exile.  This also happened in 586BC when Babylon attacked Jerusalem and forced the Jews into exile.  In this earlier siege, the Jews were exiled into Babylon (modern Iraq/Iran), but were permitted to return to Jerusalem and rebuild their fallen Temple 70 years after they were exiled. This was a fulfillment of the 70 year Prophecy in the book of Jeremiah.  What does that have to do with today?  YHWH calls Jerusalem the Apple of His Eye, the city where He placed HIS HOLY NAME.  Everything that happens in/around Jerusalem is prophetically important.

The United Nations 1947 Partition Plan was very important because it put in motion the FULFILLMENT of another very ancient prophecy…

Isaiah 11: 11:

Then it will happen on that day that the Lord
Will again recover the second time with His hand
The remnant of His people, who will remain,
From Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath,
And from the islands of the sea.
12 And He will lift up a standard for the nations
And assemble the banished ones of Israel,
And will gather the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the earth.

Isaiah prophesied that Judah would be gathered back to Israel A SECOND TIME from the 4 corners of the earth.  The first time that Jerusalem was gathered back to Israel was 70 years after the first siege by Babylon.  This means that the Partition Plan set into motion the fulfillment of the Isaiah 11:11 prophecy, that Israel would return to her land “a second time”.  Unlike the first exile that was confined mostly to the nation of Babylon, the 2nd exile by the Roman army sent the Jews to the 4 corners of the earth.  Because of the Partition Plan voted on by the United Nations on November 29, 1947, Israel was permitted to return to her ancient homeland and re-create the Jewish State.

But the enemy continues to howl.  Satan does NOT want the Jews to have control over Jerusalem, the city where YHWH placed HIS Holy Name!  This is why Jerusalem has become “a cup of trembling” to the world.  The Palestinians continue to fight for control of Jerusalem, particularly Eastern Jerusalem, claiming that it is their ancient capital.  All of this was prophesied in Zechariah 12

On November 14, 2016, the longest blood moon (lunar eclipse) was seen over Jerusalem since 1948 when Israel became a nation. This was a sign to the Jewish people that trouble was coming.  Not even two weeks after this long blood moon, on November 29, 2016 (anniversary of partition plan), 153 Nations voted against Israel at the United Nations General Assembly. They claimed that Israel is an “illegal occupier” and that the land, especially Judea, Samaria (aka West Bank) and also Eastern Jerusalem belongs to the “State of Palestine”.

What is so important about Nov. 29, 2018 and the completion of the 70th year?  Well, as we’ve stated before, God works in patterns.  The number 70 often represents judgement in the Bible.  The first time that Israel was exiled from JERUSALEM for her extreme disobedience, she was exiled into the nation of BABYLON for 70 years. But after the 70 years were completed, God punished Babylon for it’s cruelty to the Jewish nation.

Jeremiah 25: 12 ‘Then it will be when seventy years are completed I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,’ declares the Lord, ‘for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it an everlasting desolation.

Most people have some idea of what a prophecy is, that it often predicts a future event or delivers a message from God (YHWH).  All TRUE Prophecy comes from YHWH and His Son YESHUA (our Elohim Triune God).   There are many, many prophecies in the Bible.  We’ve already detailed just a few prophecies about the Messiah Jesus that were in the Old Testament that have already been fulfilled with Jesus’ “1st coming”.    There are numerous prophecies about Jerusalem and also about Jesus’ 2nd coming.  We will discuss much of this in future posts.

What can we expect?  Well, if the Bible is about patterns…and it is.  Then, we MAY expect the enemies of Israel to converge and attempt to remove her from her land.  The Bible also tells us that this won’t go well for them.  Those who Bless Israel are blessed, and those who curse Israel are cursed.  Jeremiah 25 states that when 70 years are completed, God will PUNISH Babylon.  This did indeed happen at the end of Judah’s 70 year Exile when God used the nation of MEDIA/PERSIA to punish BABYLON.  But if this is a pattern, then we may see “Babylon” punished again, making it a desolation.  There’s no modern nation of Babylon, right?….But what about “Mystery Babylon”?  Hmmm….We know from the book of Revelation that “Mystery Babylon” (who or whatever that is) will indeed be destroyed in the last days.  Sounds very much like the pattern may repeat.  Today, November 29, 2018 is a very significant day.

Revelation 18: 9 “And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

Nobody knows why the earth just rang like a bell”..

Not saying that this UNUSUAL EVENT OR SIGN is related to the COMPLETION of the 70TH anniversary of the fulfillment of Isaiah 11:11, but an interesting news article just came to our attention that we’re adding in here.  Apparently, the unusual anomaly or “event” occurred on November 11th…11/11.  “The earth rang like a bell”.

The Lord does speak to us in mysterious ways…
