I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve found myself looking at all the terrible things going on in the world and find myself longing for “the good ole days”. That’s why I like “retro” and “throwback” items that remind me of a time gone by, a simpler time. It’s not just me either. I was reading about a Pastor who lived as a Missionary Pastor in Turkey for decades, and was rounded up and arrested following an alleged failed coup attempt. He was ultimately released, and when he returned to the United States, he was “astounded at the speed with which the US is imploding”, and he predicted severe Christian persecution in the near future.
“There are any number of issues where it seems that it’s no longer enough for a person of faith to get along with, or to serve, or to treat well someone they disagree with,” he continued. “And I think that the political business, media, celebrity class, and also academia, it seems that there’s much more of a demand that people of faith approve of, that they validate, that they celebrate things that they actually disagree with.”

Why do so many people BELIEVE that it is a good thing to celebrate disobedience to God’s ways? Why do they then demonize, ridicule, or shun those who are trying to walk the narrow path and also teach others to do the same? Why can’t they SEE the truth about abortion, homosexuality, fornication, drugs and alcohol? Why do so many people support the open border agenda that allows for more human trafficking, the attack of Constitutional rights, homelessness in California, including needles and excrement in the streets of Los Angeles? Why do so many people oppose law enforcement, border control, and those who risk their lives daily to establish law and order? What is happening to our world?
I’ve been praying about this, and seeking the Lord because the rate of moral decay in our Western society is increasing rapidly. Those who advocate these policies do not realize (or maybe they do) that they are on a slippery slope to anarchy which could then result in Communism or something that that’s even worse. Big Tech Corporations are silencing conservative voices through algorithms and artificial intelligence. When Hollywood celebrities call for “black lists” against Political opponents, call for violence against the President (Trump) and the White House, who label Conservatives from ALL RACES as racist and call border patrol…terrorists, simply because they are trying their best to enforce our laws, then we’ve got a serious problem on our hands. We’re sliding down fast, and much of our population is cheering on this agenda. It’s very disturbing. How do people who call for these things not recognize the potential for a HORRIBLE outcome! How can they not SEE that if given what they THINK they want, they will literally be INVITING the antichrist, who IS the manifestation of the “spirit of LAWLESSNESS” to come to power? How can they not SEE the handwriting on the wall?
There is scene from a movie that keeps coming to my mind whenever I see pictures of the women’s marches, the gay pride parades, the pro-Islam movements, pro-abortion marches, when I listen to many of the Mainstream media pundits demonizing conservative Christianity, patriotism, national borders, and advocating for the lawless antichrist agenda. In my mind I pray “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do”. They’re welcoming in the very agenda that’s going to KILL THEM.
Jesus gave me a Rhema Word this morning in response to my prayer about why so many people can’t SEE the truth! These people have no idea that if they truly get what they THINK they want, they will be HORRIFIED! You know, Adolf Hitler and the NAZI SOCIALIST party ( National Socialist German Workers’ Party.) was VERY POPULAR for many, many years during the 1930’s. Millions of people had NO IDEA that he was a complete MONSTER and that his agenda was EVIL.
“Adolf Hitler and the Nazis waged a modern whirlwind campaign in 1930 unlike anything ever seen in Germany. Hitler traveled the country delivering dozens of major speeches, attending meetings, shaking hands, signing autographs, posing for pictures, and even kissing babies.
Joseph Goebbels brilliantly organized thousands of meetings, torchlight parades, plastered posters everywhere and printed millions of special edition Nazi newspapers.
Germany was in the grip of the Great Depression with a population suffering from poverty, misery, and uncertainty, amid increasing political instability.
Nazi propaganda demonized Jews and others, claiming they were the REASON that the country had fallen into such disrepair.

Hitler and the nazi party was able to put on a “good show” for the media (who loved him). Like many of today’s Hollywood “elites”, world leaders, media pundits, and the “cool kids” on the block, Hitler was also “the cool kid” in the 1930’s, appealing to the youth, to popular culture. He also stirred up hatred for a particular religious group (Jews). Why mention this notorious evil SOCIALIST man? Because the same spirit exists in the world today, but people DON’T recognize that when they demonize Christians and Jews, when they PREACH SOCIALISM, they are falling right into this trap..AGAIN! There is truly nothing new under the sun! Popular culture tells us that those who HATE the President of the United States (Trump), who HATE the “religious right”, who HATE Israel are JUSTIFIED and RIGHTEOUS in their HATRED! After all, aren’t all “religious” people (Conservative Christians/Jews) “bigots” , “racist, “misogynist”, “homophobic”, “anti-immigrant”, or even DEPLORABLE? Don’t they deserve to be hated?
Just look at how a few anti-semitic Congresswomen (“The squad”) have become Mainstream media darlings!
Why Lord?
I was asking the Lord…WHY? Why are so many walking “this way”? Why? I awoke with a Rhema Word from the Lord this morning in response to this prayer….
Word of Wisdom received 9/6/2019: ” Their eyes have been blinded”.
1 Corinthians, “for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit,”
-1 Corinthians 12:8 (NKJV)
Wow, so this led me on another Biblical Treasure hunt! I love it when Jesus sends me on these Treasure hunts! His Wisdom is like a wonderful PEARL, like a beautiful DIAMOND!
What does the Bible have to say about blinded eyes? Who is blinded? Why are they blinded? When were they blinded? By whom are they blinded? How does one get “unblinded”?
We see this idea of “blindness” verses “sight” way back in the very first book of the Bible, Genesis.
Genesis 3:6: When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.
Why does the Torah say that Adam and Eve’s eyes were opened? Adam and Eve realized, for the very first time, that they were naked, but it was so much more than just that! The Fall was not simply one of the main events in the history of creation – it was a global cataclysm, a total change in the status of the universe. What the Bible describes as the eyes (of Adam and Eve) being opened is one of the most substantial and fundamental manifestations and consequences of this global change. Adam and Eve, who had until then seen God in His reality – and saw everything only in His light and the light of His reality – then began to see the world with a clouded, sinful vision, which, from that time onward became, and has remained, humanity’s vision of reality. The ability to see God that was originally given to them, grew dim and was lost, and even Adam and Eve, not to mention their descendants, began to see this world the way humanity would continue to see it throughout the ages: weighed down, material, and physical. They left His presence – and their eyes were opened to this worldview. From now on, to see the invisible, man would need faith.
Adam and Eve’s eyes were opened to the worldview of the flesh, but in so-doing, their eyes became BLINDED to the TRUTH of God and the spiritual realm. This is why Adam and Eve were not allowed to partake of the tree of life, lest they remain that way, BLINDED to the TRUTH, forever. From that moment on, God has been dealing with Tikkun Olam (Repair of the world). From that moment on, the world has been blinded. Who blinded humanity? We need look no further then the serpent, the one who convinced Eve to partake of the hidden fruit, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Why does the serpent (satan) desire to keep humanity wandering around, blinded, in darkness? Because he hates God and wants to drag us into the same pit where he is going. The serpent can’t harm God Almighty, so he goes after God’s creation, especially God’s children.
2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
The entire phrase “their eyes were opened”, the same phrase that we saw in Genesis 3, is only seen in one other place in the Bible.
Luke 24: 30 When He (Jesus) had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight.
In this scene (Luke 24), two disciples were walking along the road to Emmaus, a city about seven miles from Jerusalem, on the very day that Jesus was Resurrected (3 days after His Crucifixion). While they were talking with each other and discussing what had happened in Jerusalem, mainly the crucifixion of a “Great Prophet” whom they had hoped was the Messiah, Jesus appeared before them. They had heard the claims that Jesus had appeared to the women at the tomb where His body had been layed, but they didn’t believe them. The disciples DID NOT recognize Jesus even though He was right there in front of them. Jesus walked along with them, explaining the Old Testament Scriptures about how the Messiah had to suffer and enter into His Glory. Because it was getting towards sunset, they asked Jesus to remain and dine with them once they reached their destination. It was in the breaking of Bread that the two disciples FINALLY RECOGNIZED JESUS….”THEN, their EYES WERE OPENED! They likely REMEMBERED the LAST SUPPER where Jesus had broken bread with them, instituting the NEW COVENANT!
What we have here is a complete REVERSAL from what happened in Genesis 3. In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve (2 people) ATE of the FORBIDDEN FRUIT, they took in BAD FOOD, and their eyes were opened to the PHYSICAL WORLD, and yet CLOSED, BLINDED to the TRUTH of the SPIRITUAL REALM, of GOD. But in Luke 24, the 2 people (two disciples) ATE of the BREAD OF LIFE (JESUS/GOOD “FOOD”), and their EYES WERE OPENED to the TRUTH!
Romans 5:19: For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.
Since the time of Adam and Eve, mankind’s eyes have been BLINDED by the “god of this world”. The title “god” is assigned to satan, not because he has any divine attributes, but because he actually has the homage of the people of this world as their god, as the being who is really worshiped, or who has the affections of their hearts in the same way as it is given to idols. He does this mostly by DECEPTION! He has dominion over the sinful world, those who REFUSE to believe in Messiah Jesus, in His Saving Grace – the ONLY RESCUE for mankind. Sadly, the VAST MAJORITY OF HUMANITY obey Satan’s will; they execute his plans; they further his purposes, and they are his obedient subjects, because most DO NOT realize WHO they are serving!
Ephesians 2: And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
When an unbeliever hears the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and finds him or herself getting angry, pulling away, not wanting to believe, we know that the enemy is at work blinding their eyes. Willful rebellion and obstinate unbelief will cause blindness of eyes and hardness of heart. The Old Testament likens this blindness to having plaster covering the eyes. The enemy seeks to keep mankind walking in darkness, and by the way this world is looking these days, he’s doing a pretty good job. People keep eating from the nasty fruit on the rotten tree, the fruit that says “I can do this myself”…I don’t need God, I am God”. Although people who eat of this fruit THINK they are enlightened, intellectual, intelligent, “god like”, they are really stumbling around in the dark, with plaster over their eyes. Those who reject Jesus Christ, REJECT His Teachings, REJECT His Word, are stumbling around in darkness and they know it not! This is why they EMBRACE the antichrist agenda, the “god of this world”.
Matthew 13: 14 In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;
You will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
15 For the heart of this people has become dull,
With their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes,
Otherwise they would see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart and return,
And I would heal them.’Romans 8: 8just as it is written,
“God gave them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes to see not and ears to hear not,
Down to this very day.”
9 And David says,
“Let THEIR TABLE become a snare and a trap,
And a stumbling block and a retribution to them.
10 “LET THEIR EYES BE DARKENED TO SEE NOT,
And bend their backs forever.”
Like the Disciples on the Road to Emmaus, the only way to be “unblinded” is to partake of the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 1:3: And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
When a sinner hears the Gospel, BELIEVES, and obeys it, submitting to the Will of Christ, his eyes and ears are OPENED to the TRUTH of God, and the Spiritual realm! Sanctification involves having our eyes opened wider and wider as we see SIN for what it REALLY IS and CHRIST for WHO HE REALLY IS.
