God’s Rescue plan for mankind was present from the very beginning, from the time of Creation. It was even written into the very names of the Genealogy of Noah.
The 1st 5 books of the Bible are called the Torah, and were written by Moses under the instruction of YHWH. The Hebrew word, torah (תורה), is derived from a root that was used in the realm of archery, yareh (ירה). Yareh means to shoot an arrow in order to hit a mark. The mark or target, of course, was the object at which the archer was aiming. Consequently, torah, one of the nouns derived from this root, is the arrow aimed at the mark. The target is the truth about God and how we relate to Him. The torah is designed to teach us the truth about God. Torah means direction, teaching, instruction,or doctrine. The Torah IS the Word of God!
Jewish tradition holds that “Moses received the Torah from Sinai,” yet there is also an ancient tradition that the Torah existed in heaven not only before God revealed it to Moses, but even before the world was created. According to Eliezer ben Yose the Galilean, the Torah lay in God’s bosom and joined the ministering angels in song. The Torah lay in the bosom of God. Jewish Rabbis, who do not yet recognize that Yeshua (Jesus) IS the Word of God made flesh, HE IS the Son of the Living God, claimed that the TORAH lay in the Father’s bosom since the beginning of time itself.
John 1:18:No man hath seen God at any time; but the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
John 1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:14: And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
“The Torah (the Word of God) lay in God’s bosom.” Think about that for a moment. The Hebrew word for God in the book of Genesis is Elohim, and it is a plural word. There aren’t multiple Gods, but One God who exists in 3 forms, as a community, as a family, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Son of God lay in the Father’s Bosom. The Son of God existed within the Father from the very beginning. The Son of God (who is the Word of God) was in the beginning with God, and He was God, and He existed before the foundation of the world.
The Word of God, in the Greek, is Logos, meaning the Revelatory thought of God, or the expression of a thought. The Logos of God can be thought of as the total message of God to mankind. Jesus embodied that total message which is why He is called the Word of God, made flesh.
Logos is also used many times when referring to the written message of God (John 17:17; 1 Timothy 4:5; Revelation 1:2; Colossians 1:25). Hebrews 4:12 says, “The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Jesus showed a link between the written Word of God and Himself, in that He is the subject of the written Word: “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me” (John 5:39).
Revelation 19:11: And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12: His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems (crowns); and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13: He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
When Man sinned in the garden, God had already a plan to restore EVERYTHING through his son, the Messiah. And God reveals this very early in the Bible. In the story of Abraham and Isaac, In the story of Joseph who suffers for his brothers in Egypt, The whole bible is full of Jesus! He said to his desiples after the resurrection: “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. (Luke 24:44-45)
Even the names in Genesis have meanings that when put together from the blood line from Adam to Noah tell the Gospel (Good News). Like the Torah, the names of the genealogy from Adam to Noah are like an Arrow shot to hit the mark, to reveal the truth, the message, the Logos of God to mankind.
(Genesis 5:3-29:) When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died….
Meaning of the Names from Adam to Noah…
- Adam -Man
- Seth -Appointed
- Enosh – Mortal
- Kenan – Sorrow
- Mahalalel – The blessed God
- Jared – Shall come down
- Enoch – Teaching
- Methuselah – His death shall bring
- Lamech – Despairing

Put those meanings into a complete sentence and you get: THE GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS) of JESUS CHRIST!
Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow,(but) the blessed God shall come down teaching. His death shall bring (the) despairing comfort and rest.
It doesn’t stop there, There are the names of the 12 tribes of Israel, in the order listed in Revelation chapter 7, together with the meaning of each name (Revelation 7:4-8):
Meaning of the names of the 12 Tribes of Israel as revealed in Revelation 7
1. Judah =”I will praise the Lord”
2. Reuben = “He has looked on me”
3. Gad = “Granted good fortune”
4. Asher = “Happy am I”
5. Naphtali = “My wrestling”
